Using the Pithy Assistant

The assistant is an AI helper that lives on your dashboard. It can answer questions, query your connected services, and remember things about you.

What It Can Do

Query Your Data

Ask questions about your connected services:

  • “What meetings do I have tomorrow?”
  • “Show me unread emails from this week”
  • “What’s on my calendar for Friday?”
  • “Search my emails for the project proposal”

The assistant uses your connected integrations to find answers.

Work With Panels

  • “What’s in my calendar panel?”
  • “Refresh my email panel”

Remember Things

The assistant can remember facts and preferences:

  • “Remember that I prefer morning meetings”
  • “My project deadline is January 30th”
  • “I’m working on the Q2 roadmap”

It will recall these in future conversations.

How to Chat

Type your message and press Enter. Use Arrow Up/Down to recall previous messages.

When the assistant uses a tool (like searching your calendar), you’ll see a brief indicator of what it’s doing.

To stop a response mid-stream, click the Stop button.

Examples

Checking your schedule:

What’s on my calendar today?

Finding information:

Search my emails for messages from Sarah about the budget

Taking action:

Refresh my Gmail panel

Remembering:

Remember that my team standup is at 9:30am

Tips

  • Be specific: “Emails from John this week” works better than “recent emails”
  • Follow up: The assistant remembers your conversation, so you can ask follow-up questions
  • Clear history: Click the clear button to start fresh (this removes all messages from the current session)

Limitations

  • The assistant can read and refresh panels, but cannot create or delete them
  • Memory is simple text - it won’t remember complex structured data
  • Very long conversations may be summarised to stay within context limits
