Connecting Your Accounts

To see your personal information in Pithy - like emails, calendar events, or tasks - you’ll need to connect the relevant services.

How It Works

Most integrations use OAuth, the same secure method you use when clicking “Sign in with Google” on other websites:

  • You sign in directly with the service (Google, Microsoft, etc.)
  • Pithy never sees your password
  • You can revoke access at any time

Connecting an Integration

Step 1: Open Preferences

Click your profile icon in the top-right corner, then select Preferences.

Step 2: Find the Integration

In the Integrations tab, you’ll see services grouped by type:

  • Built-in - Always available (Weather, Web Content, News feeds)
  • Connected Services - Require OAuth sign-in (Google, Microsoft, Bluesky)
  • API Credentials - Require an API key (some services)

Step 3: Connect

Click the Connect button next to the service. A new window opens for you to sign in and authorise Pithy. Once complete, you’ll return to Pithy and see the connection status update.

Available Integrations

Google (OAuth)

  • Gmail, Calendar, Tasks, Drive

Microsoft (OAuth)

  • Outlook, Calendar

Social (OAuth)

  • Bluesky, Mastodon

Disconnecting

  1. Go to PreferencesIntegrations
  2. Find the connected service
  3. Click Disconnect

You can also revoke access from the service’s own security settings (e.g., Google Account → Security → Third-party apps).

Troubleshooting

Pop-up blocked: Allow pop-ups from Pithy in your browser settings.

Connection failed: Try disconnecting and reconnecting. Ensure you granted all requested permissions.
